WHAT IS A NETWORK OR IP ADDRESS?

Image
NETWORK 0R IP ADDRESS    is an identifier for a node or host on a telecommunications network. Network addresses are designed to be unique identifiers across the network, although some networks allow for local, private addresses, or locally administered addresses that may not be unique. -it is more commonly known as IP address. -it is the numeric address of a computer connected to the network. -is a set of numbers, called as “octets” or “dotted decimal” notation, that identifies any network device.   Example: 172.16.254.1 IP VERSIONS  IPv4 is the standard version             * is the most widely deployed Internet protocol used to connect devices to the Internet. It is the specific version of IP address that we all know and become accustomed with. Addresses are canonically represented in dotted-decimal notation, which consists of four decimal numbers, each ranging from 0 to 255. Separated by dots....

WHAT ARE THE STEPS IN CRIMPING RJ-45 CONNECTOR?

Image
The  crimping process will deform the strands of the wire so that there is a gas-tight joint. Not only will this provide the greatest surface area for electrical contact, but it also prevents oxygen or moisture from reaching the metal of the wire and terminal, reducing the possibility of corrosion. 1. Cut into the outer sheath of the cable with a pair of scissors .  Take a pair of scissors and gently cut into the plastic sheath about 1 inch (25 mm) from the end of the cable. Make sure you don’t cut into the wires inside. When the scissors penetrate the sheath, rotate the cable and scissors to create a cut around the cable. Then, stick your fingertips under the sheath and pull it off towards the end. Tip: If you don’t have scissors, you can use a utility knife to cut away the outer sheath. But be careful not to cut the wires inside . 2. Separate and straighten out the small wires in the cable. Use your fingers to untwist and straighten ...

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF NETWORK CABLE?

Image
What is a network cable?             Network cables are used to connect and transfer data and information between computers, routers, switches, and storage area networks.   These cables are essentially the carrier or media through which data flows There are three main types of network cables which are twisted pair cable , coaxial cable , and fiber optic cable that are used in communication system. There are different and suitable for various applications for each cable. Knowing the difference between the three will give you an idea on how the data can travel through each cable, that can easily affect your connection and things like speed, latency, security, cost, etc. Here is a general breakdown of the three different types of cable system and what they are capable of: TYPES OF CABLES: Coaxial Cable - is a type of electrical cable consisting of an inner conductor surrounded by a concentric conducting shield, wit...

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT NETWORK DEVICES?

NETWORK DEVICES   What does a Network Device mean? Network devices, or networking hardware, are physical devices that are required for communication and interaction between hardware on a computer network.   EXAMPLES OF NETWORK DEVICE ·          Hub ·          Switch ·          Router ·          Bridge ·          Modem ·          Transceivers ·          Firewall HUB A  hub  is a simple device that directs data packets to all devices connected to it. Basically, a hub does nothing except provide a pathway for the electrical signals and regenerate signal before it forwards it to all connected devices. It can be used with both digital and analog data, provided its s...
